experience

IMG_0654I am a Certified Imago Therapist and a Mindfulness-Based Registered Art Therapist with extensive training in the Expressive Therapies, including Play Therapy and Sand Play Therapy.

I designed and implemented an Art Therapy in Schools program in inner city schools, working with at-risk children, over a period of 8 years.

My experience working with traumatic loss includes several years at Living Through Loss with children and families.

Daily meditation practice with 25 years of mindfulness and loving-kindness meditation is inextricably intertwined in the work that I do with couples, adults, children and families.

Currently, I am enjoying a private Imago & Mindfulness-Based Therapy Practice in Nanaimo B.C.

What I do is MAGICMindful Atunement to Go(o)dness ICouples, adults, children and families

In my private practice sessions I am helping clients to cultivate the ability to attend moment to moment, with the medicine of unconditional care, to that which is unfolding.

This is a practice that helps us, and those around us, come into BEing the beauty and goodness that we all already truly are.

This is likened to the polishing of a bronze bowl…despite any tarnish…this bowl, like us, is innately luminous…this practice is the polishing that enables us to shine.

We do this through meditative inquiry Imago and through Sand Play Therapy. Sand Play Therapy utilizes objects and figurines to “paint” a picture, or to build a symbolic world, in a blue-bottomed box of sand.

“I would love to live like a river
flows, carried by the surprise of
it’s own unfolding.”
~ John o’Donohue

Doing so, directly links us to the unconscious, helping to bypass the intellect. Unconscious material that may be affecting us adversely in our daily life, has an opportunity to be worked with/played with in a way that is both transformative and healing.

Playing and BEing with ourselves and others in this way is M.A.G.I.C.
